Goddess Eyelash Extensions
What are Eyelash Extensions?
Lash Extensions extend the length, fullness and thickness of your eyelashes. They are applied individually to your own natural lashes hair-by-hair for a totally natural feeling and look. A variety of lengths, styles and colors are available to offer you the look you desire, whether it be a natural look or something more dramatic. For those seeking maximum volume and fullness, 2D and 3D Lash Extensions are also available.
How long do Eyelash Extensions last?
Lash Extensions can last three to six months with refills in between. Refills are recommended after an initial full set application to replace any lashes that may have fallen off during the natural lash shedding cycle and to reapply new lash extensions as your natural lashes grow in. Eyelash Extensions will usually last for the length of the natural growth cycle of your own lashes (approximately 2-3 weeks).
What do I do when I am ready to remove the Lash Extensions?
Removal of Lash Extensions MUST be done professionally, as a special remover is used to prevent damage to your natural lashes. If you try to remove them yourself, you may cause damage, breakage, or removal of your natural lashes. Removal includes a Lash Conditioning Treatment.
How do I care for my Eyelash Extensions?
You will want to keep your new lashes dry for at least 2 hours and as dry as possible for the first 24 hours while the adhesive is setting. Try not to sleep on your face or otherwise apply undo pressure on the lashes. Try not to rub or scratch your eyes. Most importantly, do not use creams, lotions, serums, eye drops or makeup removers with oils in them near the lash line as they will loosen the bonds & decrease the life-span of the Lash Extensions.
Can I use mascara with Eyelash Extensions?
There really is no need for mascara although water-soluble mascara may occasionally be worn. Constant use of mascara will shorten the life span of your Lash Extensions as well as possibly catching and pulling lashes out. We do however, offer and a recommend a lash sealant specifically designed for lash extensions that when used 2-3 times a week, adds shine (much like mascara), maintains the bond, and extends the life of your new lashes. WATERPROOF MASCARA IS NOT RECOMMENDED, AS IT WILL DISSOLVE THE BOND.
How long does the initial application take?
Depending on the desired look and quantity of extensions, the service may take between two and two and three hours (Natural versus 2D/3D Lashes). During the application your eyes are treated to an anti-aging mask for the under eye area while you relax to calming music. Avoid caffeine on application/refill days as twitchy lashes make applying extensions a bit more time consuming and will result in fewer lashes being applied during your appointment.
How often and why will I need refills?
Refill appointments are recommended every 2 – 4 weeks to keep the lashes looking their best. As the natural lashes shed and fall out, the extensions will as well. Additionally, when the natural lashes grow out the extensions can hang or change direction. All Lash Extensions Refill services include an anti-aging under eye mask, repressing or removing any older lashes, and reapplying new lashes.Coming in for Refill Appointments keeps your set of lashes looking their best for as long as possible.
Refill appointments can be booked as forty five or seventy five minutes for Natural Lash Extensions and sixty and ninety minutes for 2D/3D Lash Extensions. Forty five minute appointments are usually sufficient for refreshing the look if you only need some new lashes to replace the ones that have shed and are within 2 weeks of your initial application or last refill appointment. Hour long/75 minute appointments are best if it has been longer than two weeks since your last refill appointment/initial application or if older extensions have begun to change direction or hang. *Clients must have no less than 50% or their lash extensions remaining for 45/60 minute Refill appointments and no less than 30% for 75/90 minute appointments.
Are there different kinds of lash extensions?
Yes, there are. Aside from differing lengths and colors (I carry blue regularly but almost any color can be ordered and applied) there are differences is the material used:
- Mink Lashes – these are thinner lashes and provide a very natural, soft look. They are perfect for those with weak or very short natural lashes and tend to last a bit longer than synthetic lashes. They are also what is typically used with 2D/3D Lash Extensions.
- Silk Lashes – these are not as dense as synthetic lashes and not quite as light-weight as mink lashes. These are a great mid-range product as far how long they last and offer a look somewhere between natural and lashes with mascara.
- Synthetic Lashes – these are slightly thicker and give a more full look, like mascara without the clumps. They are heavier however, and cause the natural lash to shed a bit sooner.
- Blends – A combination of mink, synthetic and/or silk.
There are also differences in thicknesses from .7mm to .30mm, the thinner being for a thicker, fuller look or for those with thin, short or brittle lashes. With each increase in thickness, you can achieve a more dramatic look with your lashes, however the natural lash must also be strong enough to hold the weight of the lash extension. You and your technician will work together to achieve the look that best suits your needs, lifestyle, and health of your natural lashes.
Is a patch test required?
No, lashes and adhesive do not come into contact with the skin. However, clients are required to fill out consent, release and health history forms.
